Arrows and fringe

I pretty much hit the jackpot when I married my husband. Brains, looks and handiness to boot. But where this marriage really shines is the family I married into. Two words: good people. As an only child I always dreamed for a sister, and my husband's is pretty much the best around. She's kind, funny, driven and has a style about her unlike no other (I mean, not many white chicks can pull off blond dreads...).

In between college classes, she works at a local pizza joint. She asked me to make her a new satchel to hold her notebook, pen, etc. while she was on the job. When we were in Maine over the holidays, we found this amazing arrow fabric together so I used it for her custom bag.

It has an open top to easily slide things in and out of, as well as a zipper pocket and second open pocket to keep change, checks and pens. She can easily tie it around her waist and let that amazing fringe blow in the breeze!

Mac daddy

I know I've been mmmmmajorly slacking on blogging over the last year! I had a baby and poof! Time flew right out the window! But I haven't just been sitting around...I've been busy, busy, busy!! Restocking, fulfilling some fun and challenging custom orders and using my new embroidery machine (more on that later!!). Todays post is about one of those fun custom orders I did around Christmas of last year.

I've done a couple Macbook sleeves but this one might be my favorite! I wanted to do preppy with a vintage twist and I think I nailed it. Navy and white striped cotton with vintage lace trims and large mustard ric-rac were the perfect combination! Top it off with a tortoise shell button and call it a day!!
